4 key elements for exceptional drinking water — our recipe for air-to-water success
1. Taste: Achieving the ideal taste profile
How does water made from air taste? We invite you to find out. Like imported natural mineral water, local desalinated water, or filtered municipal sources, its unique flavour and mouthfeel come from key factors like mineral composition, pH, and hardness. By fine-tuning these elements, we craft a perfectly balanced drinking experience—tailored to your preferences.
In the UAE, we have seen a preference for low sodium options, which we deliver with our own natural mineral recipe. Because all atmospheric-generated water naturally has a low mineral content, it needs to be re-mineralised for to meet local requirements for TDS level (total dissolved solids) . We mineralise our water to achieve the right balance of freshness and flavour, using mineral cartridges in our air-to-water generators and dispensers and a blend of calcium and magnesium at our landmark bottling facility in Dubai.
In the event you’d like to create a custom taste profile for your customers, or bring your water production and bottling in-house, we can help you design a custom bottling line as we did for Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi. Read about their latest milestone.
2. Testing: Meeting the highest standards
The rules for water made from air are no different from conventional water. All bottled water companies adhere to the same legislation, using different mineral blends to achieve the mandatory parameters such as pH and dissolved solids. We target pH above 6.5 and total dissolved solids greater than 100mg/l, in line with legal requirements.
Because water from air is a new category, we rely on the same GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) guidelines for natural/desalinated potable water as traditional bottled companies. We also adhere to regulations and standards from top organizations including the World Health Organization and Dubai Municipality Food Code.
At A1RWATER, we conduct a detailed risk assessment for all possible chemical/microbial and physical contamination risk at each step in our process. Our system is designed to eliminate all risks and is verified by internal testing and external lab validation.
3. Air-to-water technology: Leveraging AI + automation
If you’ve ever looked at a glass or bottle of water — or tried to wash, refill and cap a bottle yourself — you may have rightly guessed that bottling technology far exceeds our human capabilities for health, safety and efficiency. Microscopic contaminants are undetectable by the human eye, and humans can’t stand up to sanitisation practices such as UV and heat.
This is why we use fully automated bottling lines, magic eye cameras, high-heat wash cycles and UV light at A1RWATER. Blending robotics and the expertise of our team, we deliver superior water quality. Water technology and automation have come far, giving organisations that leverage cutting-edge technology the competitive edge.
The MMI (multimedia interface) built into each A1RWATER unit collects a range of data points across every step of the process, measuring air-to-water generation, storage, filtration, mineralization and dispensing. Environmental conditions such as air temperature, humidity and tank volume are monitored, leveraging automatic sensors to collect detailed data related to energy usage, water generation and total dissolved solids. This data trending is critical to ensure machines are functioning properly and producing high-quality water.
“I was excited to join A1RWATER as the passion and enthusiasm from the engineering team was very evident. Supporting the ongoing R&D, and building a robust Quality Management System, the application possibilities are endless.” – Jeanette Madigan, Director of Quality
4. Sustainable water solutions for a more promising future
The water and beverage industry has made significant strides in sustainability, yet the challenge of single-use plastic remains. As demand for eco-friendly alternatives grows, A1RWATER is leading the charge with a revolutionary approach—combining renewable water generation with closed-loop packaging to eliminate waste and amplify impact.
At our Dubai bottling facility, we’ve designed a model that balances efficiency with environmental responsibility. Our reusable glass bottles are part of a fully circular system, collected, inspected, and sanitised for continuous reuse—each bottle can be refilled hundreds of times. Meanwhile, our lightweight 100% recyclable aluminum cans offer a transportable, sustainable option ideal for events, hospitality, and retail.
Whether you need a single refill station or a fully integrated water system, A1RWATER delivers sustainable hydration at every scale—without compromise.
