At A1RWATER, we see innovation and sustainability as partners in progress. This belief forms the foundation of our collaboration with Umm Al Emarat Park, a treasured green space in Abu Dhabi known for nurturing community, education and environmental responsibility.
Originally established as Mushrif Park, it was renamed in honour of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, affectionately known as “the Mother of the Nation.” Since its founding in 1982, Umm Al Emarat Park has been more than just a recreational area — it has been a place where families, nature, culture and sustainability converge.
Prioritising community and conservation
Reopened in 2015 after a comprehensive two-year renovation, the park’s design pays tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed. It reflects his vision of preserving both the UAE’s cultural heritage and natural environment for future generations. Aligned with this vision, Umm Al Emarat Park has consistently led by example in promoting sustainability. The integration of A1RWATER’s technology takes its mission a step further, demonstrating how innovative solutions can make sustainable living both practical and impactful.
For a new partnership launched in October 2024, we installed A1R30 and A1R100 machines in strategic locations throughout the park’s 179,000 square metres, serving the community from prime spots such as the Amphitheatre, Children’s Garden, Evening Garden and Shade House. Each A1RWATER machine harnesses water directly from the air, producing mineral-enriched drinking water right on site as an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic water bottles. Within each venue, the availability of air-to-water technology enhances the guest experience by providing complementary and easily accessible hydration. And with custom-designed wraps, these units serve a functional purpose while adding a pop of colour to the park’s playful aesthetic.
Turning sustainability into an experience
By allowing park visitors — from local families to international tourists — to experience sustainable water consumption firsthand, we’re turning eco-consciousness into an interactive, educational experience. This initiative serves as a model for how public spaces can contribute to a culture of sustainability and encourage responsible resource management.
Jessica Torres, Chief Commercial Officer at A1RWATER, captured the essence of our mission: “By installing our atmospheric water generators here, we’re not only offering a sustainable alternative to plastic bottled water, but also contributing to the UAE’s broader vision for a greener future, reducing plastic waste and supporting the park’s mission to inspire eco-conscious living.”
Rasha Kablawi, Group Communications Director at Umm Al Emarat Park, emphasised the shared commitment: “Partnering with A1RWATER is allowing us to offer eco-friendly, mineral-enriched drinking water to visitors, encouraging them to adopt a long-term sustainable habit while enjoying our park. We are proud of the positive environmental impact these installations have made, and we look forward to building on this success as we continue to support the UAE’s broader sustainability goals.”
Shared goals, lasting impact
Through this partnership, A1RWATER and Umm Al Emarat Park aim to inspire lasting environmental stewardship, aligned with the UAE’s sustainability goals, including the capital’s efforts to reduce plastic waste and achieve Mission to Zero and the country’s ambition to mitigate carbon emissions by the half-century mark. With the combined output of the A1R30 and A1R100 machines producing 30 and 100 litres per day, respectively, the park has the potential to eliminate over 250,000 plastic bottles annually, saving over 20 tonnes of CO2 per year.
As visitors engage with the park’s diverse programming and enjoy refreshing, mineralised water produced right on site, they become part of a broader narrative — one where community wellness and environmental conservation coexist, shaping a future that prioritises both progress and preservation.
